Gender equality has always been a part of the conversation in sports and the Olympics may not be perfect but they are striving towards that equality with more sports and more star female athletes getting their chance on the biggest stage.

Women’s hockey has been dominated by two teams since it entered the Olympic programme in 1998 but there are signs that this year’s final might not stay the same forever with more teams getting better in every tournament.
