This MLB season will be the end of an era in baseball as two of the most important figures in the sport will end their careers at the conclusion of the season. Derek Jeter and Bud Selig have been the face of baseball for two decades and both will end their time in the league at the end of 2014. For Derek Jeter the end of the season will mean the end of being the face of the sport and the prototype of a baseball player. Jeter has long been considered the one player who has done things the right way through his entire career. He is the type of player that every team looks for to help lead the team to championships.
2014 MLB Preview: 5 Things to Watch
The summer is approaching, although in some places it is taking its sweet time, and with the warmer weather comes the new baseball season. The 2013 baseball season was full of great stories and a championship run for the ages. The Boston Red Sox would be seen as a team in transition and a team that was not going to get back to the World Series a year after a terrible season.
MLB Week in Review (September 21-27)
The Season is wrapping up with few teams still able to earn a postseason spot and the rest of the teas preparing for what comes next. In the National League there are no spots left as the postseason is set and most teams know where they stands. The Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers will enter the playoffs as division champions while the Cincinnati Reds are sent to the Wild Card game. The Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals continue to fight for the Central Division with the loser moving to the wild card game against the Reds.
