Countries continue to race to the end of these Olympics but the committees of many countries have a big decision to make before it is all over. Countries must decide one of the biggest honours in the Olympics as the closing ceremony flag bearer is still to be decided. Every Olympics each country decides which athlete will carry the flag in to the arena during the opening and closing ceremonies. Generally the opening ceremony flag bearer is an athlete that has put some time into their countries efforts. These are athletes that have been in the Olympics before and have done well for their country.

It was only a matter of time until the weather became an even bigger issue in the Olympics and in Day 10 that would happen. A weather front would move in to Sochi creating fog in many of the mountain courses. For the second time in two days the Men’s Biathlon 15km Mass Start would be postponed to the next day while the Men’s Snowboard Cross would be cancelled and moved to Day 11. It has been a big story from before the Olympics began as the warm weather of Sochi would be a concern for many.

Every year that the Olympics are on the same thing happens as the focus turns to the greatest displays of sports in the world. The athletes nobody sees for four years become heroes while sports that nobody cares about in between the Olympics suddenly become main draws. It is the Olympic phenomena and because of this popularity there is always a battle to become the official sponsor or official supplier of the Olympics or an Olympic team.

The Olympics are a great display of many sports that the majority of sports fans never look for and never really try to watch. They are a number of sports that are not followed by the majority of people and that only take focus every four years. They are not full of stars and only have a few people that are recognized outside of the four years between games. They are the forgotten sports more often than not and are full of the forgotten athletes.
