NHL Week in Review (January 12-18)

Another week would take the NHL another step closer to the last part of their season with the trade deadline and the playoff race right around the corner. Of course the Olympics are also right around the corner which has made everything a little more condensed. The two weeks taken off for the Olympic tournament has forced the NHL to hurry everything up.

NHL Week in Review (Opening Day)

Hockey is officially back with the lockout over and the 2013 season beginning on Saturday as players got back to hockey. It was a long time for this day to happen as the NHL and NHLPA were locked in a CBA dispute that seemed destined to end a season. The season would be saved at the last minute though as the two sides reached a deal and would begin the season with only 48 games to play until the playoffs.

NHL Week in Review (Oct. 30-Nov. 5)

A goalie is an essential part to e hockey teams as they are the last line of defence and can easily take over a game. There has rarely been a Stanley Cup Champion without a very good performance by a goalie. Whether it is Tim Thomas last year with the Bruins or Patrick Roy with the Canadiens and the Avalanche the common denominator has been a great goalie. This has become a big aspect to many teams as a lot of teams continue to look for goalies that can guide them to the Stanley Cup.
