Championship week would once again clear plenty of things up for the NCAA as it was the last chance teams would have to show that they belong in the Top 25. Many teams would see their last games just hoping to make a big enough impression to earn a bowl bid. It was the last chance for teams to show that they can put on a great show in a bowl and some teams would accomplish this while other teams fell short. Then there was the teams sitting among the top ten of the BCS rankings who all were looking at a few big games that would change the face of the BCS.

The NCAA always winds down with one of the most exciting weeks of the season simply known as Rivalry Week. This week of games is one of the most unpredictable and exciting weeks of the season and for many teams it is the last game of the year. The week features some of the oldest and most storied rivalries in football and with that history attached to the games there is a lot at stake for every team.

NCAA football is a strange mix in sports as it is both entertainment and a way for young players to earn an education. It is multi-billion dollar industry but makes its money off of the efforts of young men who are supposed to be there to earn an education that they might have otherwise never been able to get. The pay for play debate in the NCAA has been done time and time again and will not be talked about in this week in review. Instead it is the attitude of teams and players alike in the NCAA that will be the focus.

The 11th week of the NCAA season would make some big waves in the season as top teams would have their biggest games of the season. Two of the top three teams in the BCS would have games against teams that have proven to be the thorns in their side. In two big conference games the Oregon Ducks and Alabama Crimson Tide would take on teams that could change their seasons. For the Ducks it was the Stanford Cardinal while the Tide would take on the LSU Tigers who have shown to be the thorns in the side for the Ducks and the Tide.

The NCAA season continues to get more and more intense as the weeks move closer to the bowl season. The league has not been the most exciting this year but with the bowl season only around the corner everything is getting better. It has been a theme of the last few weeks as the NCAA continues to become more intense as the weeks come.

It has become common place in the NCAA as it seems a new scandal breaks every year and puts a school in danger of losing a program. Whether it was Ohio State, Penn State, or USC there have been plenty of big programs that have fallen to NCAA investigation. Losing the ability to go to bowl games, losing scholarships, and losing wins and titles from the past have all been the punishments that the NCAA has handed out. These programs have suffered as many that have come through their punishments have not returned to what they once were before the sanctions came.

The NCAA would see possibly one of the worst weeks of football in recent memory as it seemed that the entire league had taken a week off. The top teams in the league would take on some much lesser talent and smaller schools. It is something that happens often as head coaches are allowed to schedule their own games and pick a few weak teams to go against.

Week 14 in the NCAA is always a good one but it does not always have the drama that it would in 2012. The storylines were many in the final week where the championships would be determined. It is always a big week because it is the week where conference titles are determined and for many that is the biggest game they will play. The championship games for some teams are their biggest game as they will likely not make a BCS bowl and so the highlight of the year is to call themselves a conference champion.

The NCAA season is all but over as many teams will not be playing another game while others will be moving to their championship games. The regular season is over and the dust is beginning to settle on the 2012 season. It was a classic season where little was predictable and the top spot seemed almost cursed. First it was Alabama who seemed unbeatable until Johnny Football came along and led the Texas A&M Aggies to a win over the Tide.

The NCAA never ceases to surprise as once again the week in football saw a massive shift in the BCS. Last week it was the loss of Alabama forcing the BCS rankings to take the Tide out of the top spot. With the loss the Crimson Tide would drop to fourth place behind the three remaining undefeated teams in the BCA rankings.
