There is something about Brazilian fighters that makes them these mysterious athletes that have great legends. Before they enter the UFC they cut their teeth in the lower rankings of the Brazilian fight world and in that time gain a lot of talk. When they are ready to make their debut in the UFC the legend surrounding them can be great. They are fighters that have black belts and world championships and massive undefeated streaks. That can sometimes intimidate other fighters in the UFC as they prepare to fight these legends.

The last time Jon Jones entered the octagon it was against the man that man considered the greatest challenge to the title. Coming into the fight Jones was considered one of the top three fighters in the world regardless of weight class. He would take on Alexander Gustafsson who was the only fighter that could match the length of Jones and could potentially limit Jones in his striking. The fight would turn out to be one of the best fights of the year as Gustafsson met all of the expectations.

The UFC has never seen a Featherweight or a Bantamweight main event since the start of the new divisions. The reason for this is that these lighter weights tend not to put on the most explosive fights, in terms of finishes. They do but on some electric fights though with speed and quickness that is not seen in any other division.

UFC Live 6 made history for the UFC as it featured the first title fight on a free fight card ever as the Bantamweight title was up for grabs. The Bantamweight title is a fairly new title for the UFC that came about from the merger of the WEC into the UFC. The merger brought in a number of smaller fighters forcing the UFC to create two new weight classes and will bring a third new weight class in the near future. These new weight classes were the 145 Featherweights and the 135 Bantamweights and both saw new champions.
