The postseason is the time when the MLB front offices get to see the teams that they built and hopefully everything worked out well or else some of their jobs could be on the line.

Last year the San Francisco Giants would win their second World Series title in three years as they established what could be the dynasty of the 2010s. They will look to solidify this spot in the 2013 season but it will not be an easy road. The MLB has a number of different types of teams and there are two dominant theories on how to build a winner.

The Division Series have now been decided as the postseason stable has been cut in half in the pursuit of the World Series. After the MLB saw their big experiment in the Wild Card Games take place they were hoping to continue the excitement. The Wild Card Games were good with the first single elimination games provided great play and plenty of drama.

It has been a fairly unexpected season for many in the MLB this year as most teams did not do as well or as bad as they had once thought. For the first time ever the MLB would have two Wild Card teams and that made for a great end to the year.
