NHL Week in Review (December 29-January 4)

The HL All-Star game is approaching and with the game comes the constant debate of how worthwhile the game is and a decision by a star this week brought more to one side of the debate.

MLB Week in Review (May 20-26)

Despite the thought by so many, effort in baseball is a constant struggle as teams and managers look to get that perfect effort from players and aren’t always successful.

NHL Week in Review (January 11-17)

It’s that time of year again in the NHL as the All-Star break is here after two years without the game. There have only been two games in the last five years as the NHL tries to get back to normal for the first time in a long time. In 2010 it was the Olympics that cancelled the game while 2013 saw the game become a casualty to the lockout and 2014 saw another Olympics eliminate the break. For many that is absolutely fine as the All-Star game is one of the more polarizing events in the NHL.

The MLB season is reaching the halfway point of the season as the all-star break shuts down the league for a brief stint. With the All-Star game right around the corner teams are seeing some of their top players falling onto the DL at an alarming rate. The injury bug is running rampant in the league but it is not a new trend. There has been plenty of talk about the increase in the amount of Tommy John Surgeries in the MLB as arm injuries in pitchers seem to be increasing steadily over the last few years.

MLB Week in Review (June 30-July 6)

The all-star game is something that many of the major sports have yet to grasp and yet to make into something special. They are the display of talent for each league and has become a staple in every season. There is one thing that also unites these games as there is little interest in any of the games. Whether it is played in the middle of the season or the end of the season none of the leagues have been able to make the game interesting to the fans.

MLB Week in Review (June 23-29)

The MLB is in the midst of the pitching era as the bats have been relatively quiet for the last few seasons. The pitchers have been the dominant players of the last two years with superstars emerging on the mound. Lately though, the pitchers have been suffering as injuries have wreaked havoc on pitching rotations across the league.
