World Junior Championship (Semi-Finals)

The Playoffs continued in the World Juniors as the Semi-Finals stepped up the competition with the four best teams in the tournament facing off. The Quarter Finals had some of the best games in the tournament but the Semi-Finals did not disappoint. At least one game did not disappoint as the second semi-final disappointed many in Calgary but did not disappoint the hockey world with a down to the wire finish.

World Junior Championships (Quarter-Finals)

The World Juniors finished their round robin play on New Year’s Eve as the playoff spots were handed out in some thrilling games. With all of the seeding finished it was time for the relegation and quarter finals. The quarter finals featured the #2 and #3 teams in the pools with the crossover matchups.

World Junior Playoff Preview

The World Juniors are through the Round Robin section of the tournament as the teams were divided. The bottom four teams move into the relegation round that has some changes this year. Instead of two teams being relegated there will only be one this year and the round robin results will carry over.

World Junior Championship (Day 6)

The World Junior Tournament has finished the round robin phase of the tournament with a wild finish. New Year’s Eve in the tournament has traditionally been one of the most important days of the tournament with a number of important games scheduled. The games that are scheduled for the last day of the tournament are usually made with the top teams in mind.

World Junior Championship (Day 5)

The World Junior Tournament is reaching the end of the round robin schedule and about to begin the playoffs. With this the playoff spots are beginning to be made and games are beginning to become more important than ever. This was true for Day 5 of the tournament as a number of teams were playing with a playoff spot on the line.

World Junior Championship (Day 4)

The World Juniors continued with another day of relative quiet with only two games on tap. These games were also not the best as the top teams in the tournament took on the worst teams in the tournament. There were some surprises though as some teams were able to play much better than expected but were still not able to provide upsets.

World Junior Championship (Day 3)

Day 3 in the World Junior Tournament started the day off with a massive surprise setting the scene for a potential upset day. The first game of the day started off with a big win by a smaller team against a team who were favorites in the tournament. The next game saw a very close upset that did not pan out.

World Junior Championship (Day 2)

The World Junior Tournament entered the second day after a loaded Boxing Day Schedule. The biggest news may have been coming out of the Canadian Camp who lost their physical leader in Devonte Smith-Pelly who broke his foot in the opening game. Smith-Pelly will be out for the rest of the tournament but he will stick with Team Canada as a leader for the team.

World Junior Championship (Day 1)

The World Juniors got underway on Boxing Day as the 2012 tournament had their first four games this year. With all of Canada, and some of the other countries, glued to the TV eigth teams faced off for their shot to become the next World Junior Champions. The best young players came out to show their stuff and many were here to prove that they are among the best young players in the world.

World Junior Preview (Final Look)

The World Junior Championship is one of the most interesting tournaments in the Hockey world. It features the best of the best in young talent with fans of every team getting to see the future of their teams in the tournament. The tournament is a very unique one as it has become one of the biggest tournaments for one fan base while all others seemingly ignore it.
